Kindergarten Graduation!

Hello, first grade!  The kindergarten graduation ceremony was so cute.  They solemnly marched one by one down the aisle to "Pomp and Circumstance."  Rand was so serious and tried very hard not to smile at us.

He was congratulated by Ms. Eva and Ms. Christine, his two primary teachers, and received a child's atlas as a graduation gift.

Ascention

Ella and I read a Bible story tonight about Jesus ascending into heaven.  She looked at me and said, "So how did he go up?  Was he on a balloon or what?"

In other news, Rand mentioned the other day that "he wasn't tempted to get married."

History Lesson

One evening in Indiana, Dad and Uncle Geff took us on a tour of Bristol and where they grew up.  It was so cool seeing Great-Grandpa Fisher's hayrake (and watching Dad demonstrate how to climb it), seeing the old Fisher Motel, where Grandma Fisher would buy the milk each week, the old swimming hole and rock pile, the KOA where their treehouse used to be, and all the other fascinating details that make up the Fisher history.  We finished off the evening with giant ice cream cones at Yupps -- a perfect way to end the night!

Bonneville Mill Adventures

We had a blast going to Bonneville Mill and wading in the Little Elkhart Creek.  We saw gorgeous dragonflies and racoon tracks, learned how to "pop" flowers from Grandpa, found lots of shells, and learned how a mill worked a hundred years ago.  So fun!

Indiana Part 3!

On Tuesday in Indiana we went to Shipshewana.  We went to a cheese factory and had fun with their paper hats.

Next we went to a bakery where we had the best donuts ever.  And free coffee!  It was so great that I took Doug there the next day so I would have an excuse to get another one.

In Shipshewana they had a beautiful little pond that had koi fish in it that wound around the sidewalk and under little bridges.

Elijah, Josiah, Ella, Katie, and I all went on a buggy ride!  The Amish driver knew Grandpa Fisher -- I love how everybody knows Grandpa.  It was fun to leisurely ride all through the neighborhood and listen to our horse (Maggie!) clopping along.

We also went to the toy store and rode an old wooden carousel.

Next it was off to Grandpa and Grandma Fisher's lake house!

We took a break to go visit a local dairy farmer.  It was so interesting watching the cows being milked.  Rand liked to watch the calves all drinking together.

Then it was back to the lake for swimming!  And a boat ride!  And floating around!  It was a really lovely evening.
