Sad Night

One of our favorite clients is putting her black Lab, Sophia, to sleep tomorrow. She has been staying here for over two years and Rand and Ella really like Sophia. I told them tonight that she had cancer and that her owner wanted to do the kindest thing possible for Sophia.

Rand was angry, and frustrated, and sad, and said he didn't want a hug, but when I picked him up and rocked him he snuggled in and cried. We talked for a long time. It makes me sad to see him so sad.
