Train park!

Last Saturday we went to the train park in Scottsdale. It was a huge hit! Rand would've stayed forever if we had let him. There were big trains to walk inside and look at, and little trains to ride on, plus lots of playgrounds and grassy areas to run on. Werner bought him a little engine to take home and it has not left Rand's sight in the past 48 hours.

Some of Rand's favorite phrases:
"What's that?" (repeated 8 zillion times a day)
"Hi ____ (train, bed, milk, etc)! How are you?"
"Let me see."

Uncles are fun!

Why is it so hard to get a good picture of these two?! At least they're super cute.

Merry Christmas!

Once again, it's been a while (sorry, Margie)! We've been busy here getting ready for Christmas. Last week we set up our Christmas tree and Rand is in heaven! He loves turning on tree lights first thing in the morning and says "Good night" to the Christmas tree at bedtime. Werner put up lights on a ficus tree in the living room, plus lights around our huge mirror in dining room, and outside. It looks very Christmas-y, and Rand is going to be devastated come New Years when we have to take them down.

He wasn't sure about the tree at first, but after Daddy started putting it together he got into it!

Rand has his favorite ornaments and we allow him to hold them one at a time as long as he asks nicely. He is very careful with them and loves putting them back on the tree. He particularly loves a train ornament that we got him for his first Christmas. His stocking also has a train on it -- I had no idea when I bought it last year that he would be nuts over trains, but it worked out beautifully!

Here is our very contented (and tired) little boy watching Teletubbies by the light of the tree. Doesn't he look happy?!
